Majlis refused to come to meeting with Yanukovych

Members of Council of representatives of Crimean Tartars under the President of Ukraine, who are also members of Majlis refused to take part in the meeting with President of Ukraine Victor Yanukovych, which was planned for today.

The press service of Majlis disclosed to an UNIAN correspondent that the corresponding decision was made at the session of the presidium of Majlis.

It is noted in the statement of the presidium from August 3, which was passed to UNIAN, that the meeting of Chairman of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar People, lawmaker of Ukraine Mustafa Jemilev with the head of the state took place on May 13, 2010. During this meeting it was agreed to carry out a meeting of V. Yanukovych with the Council of representatives of Crimean Tartars under the President of Ukraine early in August.

The presidium of Majlis said that the members of the Council of representatives of Crimean Tartars under the President of Ukraine can not take part in the meeting, where “odious individuals” are invited and asked Yanukovych to assign a day for a meeting with Council of representatives of Crimean Tartars under the President of Ukraine.
