Biggest ever illegal vodka haul confiscated in Moscow region

Contraband cops have got a lotta bottle - 5 million bottles of illegally-produced alcohol, to be precise.

The record-breaking haul, tracked down with help from Russia's booze watchdog, was unearthed in warehouses belonging to “Real Alcohol Company” in Dmitrov.

In total the unregistered spirits represented almost two months output from the factory, Vedomosti reported, and the find dwarfed the previous biggest cache of 540,000 bottles uncovered in St. Petersburg late last year.

The company's license is expected to be revoked.
