Russia’s most popular street name has been announced and it’s not Ulitsa Lenina.
The most popular street name in Russia is Tsentralnaya Ulitsa, or Central Street, with 23,201 streets named this way, Interfax reported on Friday citing the Federal Tax Service’s federal address information system.
The second most popular is Molodyozhnaya Ulitsa with 16,736 such streets, followed by Shkolnaya Ulitsa with 15,244. Ulitsa Lenina comes in at a modest 14th place with 7,674 streets named after the father of the revolution.
Other revolutionary names include Oktyabrskaya at 15th place (6,904) and Komsomolskaya at 16th (5,897). Yury Gagarin is the second most popular historical figure with 5,218 streets named after the first man in space.
