Trucks banned from Kyiv due to hot weather

Trucks drivers have again been banned from driving trucks in Kyiv in daytime due to hot weather.

According to the press service of the municipally-owned corporation Kyivavtodor the movement of heavy trucks above 24 tons and with axle weights of over seven tons in all streets in the city, including the streets where transit truck traffic is usually allowed, is forbidden from 1000 until 2200. Such measures have been taken to prevent possible damage to road surfaces in the city due to hot weather, the statement said. Similar restrictions have been introduced in a number of other cities.
