Belgium interested in developing electric transport in Kyiv

Kyiv city administration plans to cooperate with the Belgian capital mainly for electric transport under current investment projects.

The issue was discussed at a protocol meeting of first deputy mayor Oleksandr Popov with Ambassador of Belgium to Ukraine Marc Vinck.

The parties discussed in detail the schedule of Prince Philippe's visit to Kyiv in November 2010 within the framework of the economic missions.

They noted good cooperation under projects for Kyiv's preparation for Euro 2012, including street lighting with the use of new energy saving technologies, developed by Belgian specialists.

Projects for lighting on Kyiv's Maidan Nezalezhnosti square, Kyiv's Funicular cable railroad, some historic buildings and facilities are still to be considered.
