Teens in Russia are among the poorest in the world

A survey found that only three countries give less pocket money to their teens – with Russia’s $24-a-week hand-outs beating Brazil, Egypt and India.

But while kids in Russia are a long way short of the whopping $149 average paid out by besotted Norwegian parents, in Moscow at least they seem to be doing better than the raw figures would show.

Irina Lebedeva runs the Lingua House schools in western Moscow which provide private language classes for all ages – including many teens and children.
