Ukraine sees almost 1 percent inflation in October

Ukraine had inflation of 0.9% in October 2009 and has seen inflation of 10.1% since the start of the year, the State Statistics Committee reported on Saturday. Producer prices grew by 1.9% in October and have risen by 12.7% since early 2009. Consumer prices rose by 14.1% in October 2009 year-over-year.As reported, consumer prices in Ukraine in September 2009 renewed growth after a two-month seasonal halt: inflation was 0.8% that month. Ukraine had deflation of 0.2% in August 2009 and deflation of 0.1% in July 2009. Consumer prices grew by 1.1% in June 2009, by 0.5% in May 2009, by 0.9% in April 2009, by 1.4% in March 2009, by 1.5% in February 2009, and by 2.9% in January 2009.Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko forecast that this year's inflation will slow to 13% compared to last year's inflation of 22.3%.
