Man killed by lightning in Samara

A policeman in Samara has been killed by lightning, the local investigative committee said.. The off-duty officer, 28, was caught in the rain, and decided to hide under a tree on a sand beach on the Volga River. The lightning hit the tree, and the policeman died on the spot. The committee will conduct an inquest. A man was also killed by lightning in Moscow region on May 31. His body was found in a village in the Istra area, by a reservoir.
