Penitentiary Service: Tymoshenko again refuses to take blood test

The medical staff of Kyiv's detention facility proposed that former Ukrainian Prime Minister and Batkivschyna Party leader Yulia Tymoshenko take a blood test, but she has refused, the press service of the State Penitentiary Service of Ukraine has reported.

"On Dec. 2, the medical staff of Kyiv's detention facility proposed that Yulia Tymoshenko, in the presence of her personal doctor, take a blood test for laboratory analysis, as recommended by a Ukrainian Health Ministry commission, but for the reasons of distrust and citing the confidentiality of information, Tymoshenko again refused to take a blood test and submitted a written statement to the management of the detention facility," reads the statement.

Judge Olena Sitaylo of Kyiv’s Court of Appeals ruled late on Dec. 1 that Tymoshenko will remain in prison during an appeals hearing despite health concerns.
