Saakashvili slams Putin

Georgian president Mikheil Saakashvili slammed Russian prime minister Putin for his pitiless treatment of his own people and for initiating the occupation of Georgian territories. He cited imprisoned oligarch Mikhail Khodorkovsky as the main example of his cruelty.

He spoke to Fox News after his arrival in the US for the UN General Assembly. He added that Moscow is not interested in resolving diplomatic tensions surrounding Iran’s nuclear development as it would be impossible to then exert pressure on the USA.
